4 Rivers Smokehouse Located in Historic Atlanta Fire Station No. 16

We were hired by Food Service Equipment and Supplies Magazine to photograph the 4 Rivers Smokehouse located at 822 Marietta Street near the College Football Hall of Fame. The magazine was preparing the issue for their Design Excellence Awards and wanted this unique space, a BBQ Restaurant built into a Fire Station from 1915, included in the issue. As fans of old architecture and BBQ we were excited to win the assignment.

The space was modern cool and well laid out. We were asked to get all front of the house images that show off the vision created by the designers of the restaurant. The two-story space was well laid out with a small kitchen counter in the upstairs dining room, an original fire pole, ample rooftop deck along with curbside dining on their front patio. The only thing better than the BBQ is the story of how the restaurant came to be. With free parking in the back, you should definitely visit them if you love good BBQ and a true story that warms the heart.

And the best part was the compliment Karen got from the Art Director “Thanks again for the great photos. If it hadn’t been our design awards contest winner issue, I would definitely have put on the front cover”.

A time for self

Rarely it seems that I have the time to work on the things I want too. I have terabyte after terabyte of images I have taken through the years that I have barely glanced at since they were downloaded out of my camera. Images from trips far away or even things close to home. I have actually taken the time over the past few days to start looking back through my many hard drives with a theme in mind, “Art for Men”. Here is a little of what I have been working on. Let me know would you consider this masculine art and could you see any of it hanging in your home or office?

Porsche Experience Center

We have been serving the wonderful people at Porsche since 2014. If you have not been to the Porsche Experience Center in Hapeville you are missing out on a real treat. One of the things you can do is pick up delivery of your new Porsche at the PCNA Headquarters instead of the dealership. We were contacted by the marketing department to reshoot this campaign after another photographer failed to capture the images they were needing. The time and budget were tight but we pulled off a shoot with live models and automobiles in less than 8 hours. We hope you enjoy the images and get a chance to visit our friends at Porsche soon!

A Backstage Look Into Pop Films

2017 was a great year at Karen Images. We had the fantastic opportunity to serve and work with so many new clients, One of which was POP Films. Their studio manager contacted us to capture images of their 5 studios and facilities located off Fulton Industrial Blvd for a new website. Their goal was to show the flexibility of their spaces and the ability to handle large scale productions. We were given a long list of shots and only a day to complete the assignment.

We reviewed the list with the client and shared what was necessary to succeed in the allotted time when productions were not running. The shoot was a huge success and out of appreciation we were given this review “Karen is a fearless photographer… From climbing 10ft ladders to cleaning up rooms to manning scissor lifts, she will do anything to get that perfect shot! Karen has delivered exceptional on time and on budget photos, and I will definitely be reaching out to her in the future for all our needs.”

My art is famous!

We finally got to see the first piece of my art used in a major TV production tonight! The show is “Kevin (Probably) Saves The Wold” on ABC Tuesday’s at 10:00 EST. It is displayed prominently in the kitchen.

Inspirational Quote 9-12-17

Now is the best time to feel with your heart, as so many people have been displaced due to hurricanes, flooding and forest fires.  We have seen many people put down their differences to show heart with compassion and love for all. Let’s all care for each other and help those in need. Never forget, someday it might be you that is in need.
